The Role

Bloomberg News seeks an experienced editor to join a team covering carbon emissions, environmental, power and energy issues in its London office.
Successful applicants should have considerable business reporting, writing or editing experience, with a background in emissions and energy news. A successful candidate should have an understanding of how the carbon and power markets work and how policy is determined, and a commitment to speed and accuracy in editing breaking news.
The role involves editing stories about the EU and UN carbon market and related carbon policy and environmental regulation news, as well as their impacts on European power markets. The editor will join a growing group of carbon reporters and editors within Bloomberg's European energy markets team,working alongside colleagues in Bloomberg New Energy Finance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience working in a real-time news environment, with reporting or editing
  • experience and exceptional communication skills

  • Experience covering emissions, energy, commodities, or related industries is
  • essential
  • A thorough attention to detail and ability to assimilate new and highly technical information
  • Knowledge of the economy, markets, business
  • Fluency in English is essential with any other languages an advantage
