The Role

Bloomberg New Energy Finance is seeking a talented and highly-motivated individual to join our growing wind energy analysis team in Beijing. Specifically, we seek an entry-level analyst to work directly with our lead Asia wind analyst, China head of research and the global wind energy analyst team to cover the wind energy markets of China and other key East Asian countries such as Korea, Japan, and Vietnam. This is an exciting opportunity to join our leading renewable energy analysis team and to cover the fastest growing renewable energy sector in China. You will be part of a committed team at the forefront of wind energy market research in China and will have the opportunity to interact with our clients who are the leading players in the industry.

The Analyst will have the following responsibilities:

• Gathering information and analyzing the latest developments in the wind energy market in China and East Asia, including but not limited to: policy, industry economics, key player strategies, industry trends, and other relevant topics
• Gathering and managing key market and financial data on the following: supply and demand of wind turbines, wind project pipelines, pricing information
• Production of quarterly reports, monthly research reports, consulting projects, and other pieces of analysis on key findings
• Respond to client requests related to analysis
• Support the Asia business development team in client meetings; represent Bloomberg New Energy Finance at conferences and events
• Participate and help organize a number of key company events in the Asian region, including networking events and high level events such as the Wind Leadership Forum

Qualifications

• Post-graduate level degree preferred in finance, economics, science or social science
• Experience as an intern or analyst within an energy, consulting, investment or financial services organization. Relevant experience in the wind energy industry is highly desirable.
• Ability to assimilate and assess new and highly technical information
• Ability to think critically, discuss logically and rationally
• Ability to identify and test patterns and trends which emerge
• Ability to communicate these exceptionally clearly as required to deliver services to FTSE-250 and Fortune 500 organizations
• Strong quantitative skills
• Professionalism, as required to handle market sensitive information
• Ability and/or potential to act as a thought-leader and self-starter, with a high work rate, multi-tasking ability, and rigorous attention to detail
• Experience with financial databases, corporate financial and market statistics
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent English and Mandarin skills in reading, writing and oral communication
• Fluency in Korean or other Asian languages will be a plus
