Bloomberg is creating an exciting new information product that will report on, analyze, and quantify the impact of government actions on business and industry. This new product will be marketed to government agencies including Congress, Beltway influencers (lobbyists, associations, etc.), and business leaders (C-suite executives, government sales, government affairs, etc.) in the industries that are most impacted by government actions. Bloomberg will bring the same unparalleled level of fact based, objective reporting and analysis to Washington, DC as it has provided to the financial community for the past 27 years.

The Role

The Product Project Analyst will provide ongoing project support for the Product Development team. This individual will serve as a point of contact for the Product Development team to define functionality requirements and will proactively work with the R&D, Design, and Data teams to communicate development goals, track Product development efforts, facilitate communication between the Data, R&D and Product team, and write development stories.
The Project Analyst will:

  • Assist with defining functionality requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Track features and bugs through each development interation
  • Write development stories
  • Assist in data analysis and modeling
  • Conduct Product Development Workshops
  • Set test criteria

  • Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Business or related degree from a top tier school
  • 2 to 5 years of professional work experience as a Business Analyst or Project Manager
  • Experience in gathering and developing detailed functional requirements for software applications
  • Experience in testing features in QA environments
  • Understanding of data modeling, object modeling, and design principles
  • Experience with Agile or Iterative development
  • Demonstrable attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate value propositions to leaders in the public and private sectors
  • Can do attitude and comfort working in an extremely fast paced environment
  • Time management & prioritization skills for scope, resource and schedule management
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple development initiatives and product development teams under continual deadline pressure
  • Ability to manage internal and external resources to achieve technical objectives
  • Strong personal initiative, good judgment, and impeccable ethics; desire to succeed in a demanding, innovative, and entrepreneurial environment
  • Accustomed to "open door" office setting
