The Role

Bloomberg News seeks an experienced reporter for its States & Municipalities Team in its Albany statehouse bureau. The reporter will be responsible for spot-news and enterprise feature stories about state and local debt markets, including new bond issues and ratings actions, as well as stories on budgets, fiscal developments, and politics in New York and around the region. The ideal candidate must have at least three years of business reporting and writing experience and be able to work independently. The successful applicant should have proven experience in reporting and breaking political and fiscal stories for a newspaper or real-time news service, and should possess the ability to write market-moving exclusive feature articles.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of the economy, financial markets, and business
• Minimum of three years of business reporting and writing experience
