The Role

Bloomberg News is looking for a News Administrator in our Washington DC Office. The person in this role will support senior Bloomberg News executives, as well as the Washington DC Bureau.

Responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Understanding priorities in order to effectively manage schedule(s)
  • Ability to anticipate needs of senior news executives
  • Coordinating with counterparts across different time zones and continents
  • Act as a gatekeeper of time, calendar and priorities
  • Act as liaison and be proactive in conflict resolution
  • Managing correspondence and contact information (email, interoffice, etc.)
  • Preparing research/bios/etc. for meetings
  • Managing department T&E expenses(s)
  • Managing travel
  • Providing administrative support to 200+ News Staff in Washington DC Bureau

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor¿s degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of professional work experience assisting senior level executives(s)
  • Previous experience in Media, Government or Information Services is a plus
  • Strong personal initiative, good judgment, and impeccable ethics
  • Desire to succeed in a demanding, innovative, and entrepreneurial environment
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic and creative thinking
  • Demonstrable attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Distinctive proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
