The Role

Bloomberg has created a new web-based information product, Bloomberg Government, that will report on, analyze and quantify the impact of government actions on business and industry. It brings the same unparalleled level of fact-based, objective reporting and analysis to policy making as it has provided to the financial community for the past 27 years.

Bloomberg Government is seeking part-time copy editors for research content produced by a staff of economists, financial analysts, public policy experts and industry specialists. Our mission is to explain how Washington works and quantify in clear, precise language the impact of government actions on business, largely for corporate subscribers. Candidates should be committed to accuracy and clarity, with the broadest possible range of skills: editing for substance as well as style, fact checking and proofreading. Available 15-20 hours a week.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong editorial skills and news judgment
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team-focused environment
  • Prior proofreading and editing skills
  • Background in journalism, especially business journalism, consulting research or technical editing
  • Familiarity with a range of industries, including defense, energy, finance, health care, telecommunications and transportation, as well as labor policy, taxation and trade.
