The Role

Bloomberg's product and technology teams are committed to creating better human experiences with technology by transforming complex data, workflow processes, and end user requirements into functional and unique software product design concepts.

Bloomberg's User Experience Team is expanding and looking for a self-motivated Interaction Designer experienced in the design of complex products and business systems for our Dublin, Ireland office. Our Interaction Designers are multi-skilled innovators with extremely strong interaction design skills, user research and usability testing expertise, and an eye for aesthetics. We are looking for a multi-disciplinary team player who can quickly learn our organization's needs and culture and take responsibility for critical design decisions regarding complex interactive applications.

This is a position for the serious designer who thrives on being "in the trenches" responsible for designing and maintaining a collaborative environment across product and technical managers, graphic designers, technical writers, programmers, and end users. The ideal candidate will ensure effective involvement of end users in early product definition, rapid evolution of design concepts and the formal evaluation and usability testing of proposed designs. You will plan, visualize and deliver new products and major enhancements for business application and platform projects. The ideal candidate must possess extensive experience involving transactional interfaces. Ability to meet aggressive deadlines is a must. Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and its varying methodologies is necessary for success. Experience on data management projects involving transactional interfaces is a huge plus.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Product Design, Interactive or Multimedia Design, or related field or relevant experience
  • Strong Interaction design experience in:
  • Transactional application design
    Usability expertise
    Product development
    User research
    Information architecture
    Visual design
    Data visualization
    Business process and workflow modeling
    Usability analysis
    Leading User Experience projects

  • Strong experience in software product design and development
