The Role:

Bloomberg's R&D Network Design & Information Security (NDIS) group is responsible for the design, architecture, development and security for Bloomberg's internal and client-facing global network, security, and virtualization infrastructure.

The NDIS group is looking for a mid-level programmer to help the Security Policy team develop tools. The position offers a challenging prospect to work on a wide range of technologies, with the primary focus being automating of policy development, deployment, and maintenance. The candidate should have strong technical and programming skills, excellent problem solving skills and an appreciation for the scope and impact of their highly visible work. The candidate must possess a strong ability to multitask effectively, prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment, and work in a team environment.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of software development experience is essential
• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Proficient in Python and C programming language
• Must have experience with at least web application framework (e.g. Django), Web interface development and on HTML
• Good understanding of networks and firewalls
• Experience with SQL, XML, JSON, JavaScript
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must

Additional Desirable Skills:

• Hands on experience with network firewalls and/or proxies
• Knowledge of SSL, SSH, LDAP, DNS
