The Role

Bloomberg News seeks a freelance (fill-in) on-air reporter/writer for its TV affiliates network in New York. Individuals are responsible for presenting, writing, editing and producing reports for local stations around the U.S. Flexibility with hours is essential. The candidate must have a strong on-camera presence and the ability to engage audiences. The candidate must also be able to make quick decisions in a real-time news environment and thrive under pressure. The position demands a strong understanding of what makes a business news story and the ability to customize reports for different geographical areas. A strong knowledge of business and financial themes combined with the ability to explain complex material in simple terms is essential.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of two years recent/relevant on-camera experience
• Working knowledge of the business news and the financial markets
• Flexibility with hours is essential.
• Ability to work well in a team setting under tight deadlines
• Strong editorial skills and news judgment
• Well-developed organizational skills
• Experience working in a real-time news environment is desirable
