The Role:

Bloomberg Media is looking for a Product Operations Manager to run and scale the daily operation of its media licensing and syndication products. As POM you will work on leading news, photo, and video distribution services for professional media clients. You will work with editorial, marketing, sales and strategy teams to support key clients, manage services and implement new projects. You should bring experience with curating content on digital properties (particularly news), be savvy with all technical aspects of digital media publishing and excel at project management. Detailed knowledge of Bloomberg News, Terminal and Web products is highly beneficial, as is proficiency in various content and asset management systems.
Responsibilities include:

  • Manage day to day activities of multiple media products, incl. technical and editorial work
  • Establish standard operational practices for customer service, documentation and project management
  • Consult sales staff and clients on product and content selection, curation and filtering
  • Work with sales and marketing teams on developing leads and supporting existing clients
  • Provide support on function and usage of products, resolve product performance issues
  • Develop and maintain accurate, complete and user friendly product information
  • Identify product ideas and opportunities based on industry trends and market environment
  • Assist in development of new products and enhancement of existing products
  • Liaise with stakeholders to handle rollouts, trainings and ensure products fulfill their objectives
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate:
  • Solid track record of operations and project management at leading digital media companies
  • Strong understanding of content management systems, metadata and tagging
  • Good news judgment and ability to work with editorial teams on content strategy and curation
  • Solid communications skills and ability to connect with various stakeholders, internal and external
  • Leadership and management skills that help build and grow a team
  • Vision for technical and content innovation in the digital media landscape
  • High attention to detail including ability to manage competing priorities diligently
  • Committed to learning and expanding professional and technical knowledge
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, willingness to roll up the sleeves and help wherever needed

Qualifications:

  • 7+ year experience in digital media publishing, with mix of content, support and operational roles
  • University degree, ideally in digital media related field with technical and editorial components
  • Excellent project management skills and track record of implementation (industry certification a plus)
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and presentation skills
