Role Summary:

Responds to installation and service requests from Solutions Management, Development, Product Management or other internal or external customers; provides a stable, high-performance error-free IT infrastructure for all customers, including those within and outside our datacenters, as well as within our office.

Responsibilities:

·Plan and implement software and hardware installations, including software products or related components, as well as operating system, server, network equipment, and cabling (e.g. CAT5, CAT6, fiber optics, etc.) to provide low latency, secure and robust data transmission services within and outside of our datacenters.
·Provide continuous status reporting to ensure a seamless information flow between internal and external customers; respond to inquiries from customers (including network staff of customers, administrators, employees, vendors, etc.) for network-related information and/or direction.
·Monitor computer systems and functions (e.g. LAN/WAN connections, network traffic, performance, etc.) to ensure that complex environments mainly inside of the datacenters are secure and resources are utilized effectively; ensure that the software is operating under optimal conditions; continuously improve the performance of these environments though performance tuning or network, operating systems and hardware.
·Assess malfunctions of network hardware and/or software applications to determine appropriate actions to maintain operations.
·Support installations, which are not located in the datacenter. The support tasks reach from installing and upgrading up to monitoring of the environment, where applicable.
·Repair operating systems and network equipment to maintain equipment in a safe and functional operating condition, including operating systems, servers, applications, protocols, data communications hardware, lines, modems, network devices, switches, routers, cables, etc.
·Resolve any issues reported by the monitoring system in a timely manner and alert Solutions Management and Management of system or hardware malfunction to ensure a proper customer communication
·Oversee software and network security at datacenters and in-house network according to the company's standards and protocol.
·Manage all system back-up and restore protocols and ensure the correct operations of these backups in the datacenters and local customer installations.
·Research and develop new and adjust existing installation, configuration and maintenance plans for the datacenters, in-house network and exchange test connections which comply to the standards/protocol; establish and continuously improve process standards
·Prepare, execute and report status of upgrades, full deployments and new release roll outs in collaboration with Solutions Management
·Maintain availability of the internal network and all related services such as Mail, Internet, Video Conference, etc., minimizing downtime and maintenance windows
·Purchase needed Hardware after proper approvals have been secured

Requirements:

·Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or comparable experience
· In depth understanding of operating systems (RedHat, SuSE, Windows) with strong focus of Linux/ Unix.·Interest in and basic understanding of electronic exchanges, electronic trading and financial markets
· Day-to-day hands on experience with servers using Network: LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP.
·Familiarity with datacenter environments and the ability to rack, unrack, maintain & support datacenter hosted servers and their connectivity
·Knowledge in configuration management with e.g. Puppet, Chef, etc; Software distribution with Spacewalk, Satellite, etc; Monitoring with Nagios, Icinga, Tivoli, etc.
·Interest in and basic understanding of electronic exchanges, electronic trading and financial markets
·Ability to multi-task and maintain a general overview and calm demeanor under pressure
·Customer-focused and , service-oriented
·Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
·Proven track record of being a team player, self- motivated and, results-driven
