The Role

The QA Analyst will perform functional and technical testing activities for complex trading applications; participate as active member of development team to ensure top quality product and communicate with the various global exchanges.

This is an individual contributor role in a high performing global team.

The Responsibilities

• Executes software tests prior to releases to validate the functional and non-functional requirements are meeting the expected quality standards
• Approves the final step of the release process after ensuring that all required artifacts match the expected quality standards
• Creates and documents software test cases based on projects' functional and non-functional requirements, technical specifications and customer feedback
• Collaborates with others to continuously improve the software testing process by applying industry standards and best practices, e.g. test automation
• Participates as an active member in development team efforts to improve the quality of the software being developed
• Acts as 2nd level customer support investigating elevated issues by confirming the validity of the problem and seeking for known solutions for more complex scenarios
• Domain expert for installation, administration and customer use-cases of the software solutions actively supported by the development team
• Share responsibility for career development and training needs with the Development Team Lead.

The Qualitifications

• Degree in computer science or comparable experience or education
• 3 to 6 years of hands-on software quality engineering and testing experience, including defect tracking and results reporting
• Good exposure to financial exchanges in Asia with proven capability to read documentaiton from exchanges, and derive test strategies from them
• Experience writing test plans to identify a project's testing activities and approach
• Experience writing test cases covering required functionality and performance of software applications
• Experience with test automation
• Proven ability to work independently in a globally distributed team
• Familiar with the software development life cycle
• Able to work productively in native Linux, Windows and Solaris environment
• Electronic trading industry experience and understanding of the business side of electronic trading and financial instruments are pluses
• Knowledge of a scripting language such as Perl, Python or Bash in a Linux environment
• Excellent communication skills in English is necessary
• Business proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin and Cantonese is required
• Flexibility to travel abroad for work as and when needed
