The Role:

Bloomberg's UX, Product and Technology teams are committed to creating valuable and meaningful user experiences for our customers. The CTO Office acts as a liaison between our R&D Software Infrastructure group and the Product group. Our primary goal is to set the user experience and technology direction for company's products, particularly the BLOOMBERG PROFESSIONAL service, through short, medium and long term projects.

Bloomberg is looking to expand its UX Prototyping Team. The UX Prototypers will work closely with UX Designers to increase the fidelity of conceptual designs/artifacts, such as paper sketches or wire-frames, into interactive prototypes. The successful candidates will help various cross-product teams ensure that the design concepts are technologically feasible as part of an iterative design lifecycle. In addition, the role includes a close and collaborative environment with visual designers, interaction designers, usability specialists, product managers, and front-end and back-end technologists.

The ideal candidates must possess experience in designing and developing UI. You must be a team player with proven success in achieving aggressive deadlines. Demonstration of strong passion, excellent communication skills, and creative problem solving is a must. Meticulous attention to visual detail and a natural eye for design is necessary. Qualifications:

  • Proficient in HTML5 Development
  • Proficient in UI application and framework development e.g. Flash, Blend, Xcode
  • Proficient at scripting e.g. JavaScript, ActionScript
  • Strong understanding of UI and UX principles
  • Familiar with design tools such as Visio, Omnigraffle, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Design or related field
