Global Director Social Media

Reporting to the Global Head of Social Media, the Global Social Media Director will be responsible for championing social media as an effective tool to increase brand awareness, relationship development and sales across Bloomberg. This position requires a strong understanding of the intersection of digital, social, multimedia, communications and marketing. The role provides the opportunity to experiment with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities (¿marketing R&D¿). Key responsibilities will include monitoring developments in social media tools, trends and applications and appropriately applying that knowledge to increase the use of social media across the enterprise. The Director will strategize with and educate the management team and others across the company on incorporating relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture and into all of the company¿s products, services and channels. Responsibility for measuring the impact of social media and broadening adoption of social media as a tool for building the Bloomberg brand will be essential. You will also work across the enterprise to understand specific business needs with regards to social media, developing actionable plans and consulting internally on social media best practices

Responsibilities

¿ Collaborate with marketing, editorial, sales and other key channels and verticals to develop social strategies that align with and support the core goals of individual stakeholders within Bloomberg L.P.
¿ Educate and develop training on the company¿s social policy and best practices
¿ Act as a thought-partner and advocate for social media throughout the region
¿ Create and execute market-specific social media plans in support of central marketing initiatives
¿ Proactively identify opportunities and make recommendations to the core social team
¿ Strategize, develop, and coordinate social media planning and programs with internal business partners
¿ Measure and analyze the impact of social media on the business. Utilize social analytic tools to track and evaluate performance of individual initiatives and overall ROI.

Qualification

¿ 6-9 years¿ experience required in social media and digital marketing
¿ An advanced knowledge of the key social players/platforms in the US and internationally
¿ Strong project management, consulting and communication skills
¿ A track record of performance excellence planning, developing and managing projects and multiple work streams
¿ Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the proven ability to work across different audiences, personalities and experience levels
¿ Bachelor¿s Degree in a related discipline is required
¿ Master¿s degree preferred
¿ Strong analytical capabilities and experience using a wide variety of analytic tools, e.g. Radian 6, Hootsuite, Google Analytics
¿ Ability to manage up bringing strong thought leadership, strategy, problem solving, creativity to the consultative process
¿ Proven experience in managing projects and deliverables to strict deadlines
