The Role

Bloomberg Law is seeking an energetic, highly-motivated and experienced product manager to develop Business Development, Competitive Intelligence and Client Relationship Management tools on Bloomberglaw.com. Primary responsibilities will span the entire product lifecycle from idea to go-to-market, with a focus on driving new business and renewal revenue and executing on priority initiatives. You will build products from existing ideas and help to develop new ideas based on the market and competitive landscape, as well as through contact with customers and prospects. Creating metrics to evaluate performance, presenting actual product performance versus objectives, ensuring development and strategies extend to peripheral businesses, and managing ongoing daily product operations will be necessary.

Effectively partnering with other Product Managers and functional areas, such as Technology, Data, Editorial, Content Operations and Market Planning to specify product requirements for enhancements and implement product ideas on schedule and on budget will be critical to success. You will collaborate with Marketing on go-to-market strategy, define their understanding of product positioning, key benefits, and target customers. You will work with Sales, Operations, and Finance to achieve revenue and other financial objectives. Remaining up-to-date on industry trends and changes in the marketplace and contributing to a culture that inspires innovation, efficiency and results will also be expected.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in product management with web-based applications, Software as a Service hosted solutions, complex workflow or document management. Individual must be able to function as a primary subject matter expert on the product(s) and target market. Understand competitive landscape from strategy to functional capabilities.
  • Knowledge of developing web-based functionality
  • Experience in the legal, financial services, news, document management or compliance workflow management markets.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Demonstrated success building, implementing and quickly growing profitable Web products in the enterprise market
  • Experience in customer-centered design methodologies such as Contextual Design
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional teams and work effectively within a matrix organization
  • Leader and team player, who communicates well, is energetic, innovative, and intellectually challenges others
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. MBA or JD is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg Law, Bloomberg Terminal or familiarity with competitor's products a plus
