The Role

Join a fast moving team within Bloomberg R&D to develop high quality legal research solutions. Bloomberg is looking for a Java Developer with strong core Java programming skills, excellent problem solving and design skills and an appreciation for the scope and impact of their work.

Qualifications:

The candidate should also demonstrate a history of on-time delivery, excellent communication, and a positive get-it-done attitude. Legal domain expertise and experience working on legal research platforms is a strong plus.

  • BS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or comparable experience
  • 5+ years of Core Java Programming experience in Unix/Linux environment
  • Solid understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms & Object-Oriented design concepts
  • Proficiency with relational database / SQL development
  • Understanding of XML/XSD and other schema driven data
  • Distributed systems / middleware / multithreaded experience
  • Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • .NET is a strong plus
  • Legal domain expertise & experience working on legal research platforms a strong plus
  • Experience with workflow engines is a strong plus
