We are seeking a Product Specialist to join the Portfolio Analytics and Risk department to focus on Performance Attribution. The role will require a deep understanding of the portfolio management process of Bloomberg’s buy side customers. The role will focus on further extending Bloomberg’s multi-asset attribution capabilities by playing a key role in developing the overall product vision on Performance and Attribution Tools. You will be seen as the go-to expert in performance attribution and the associated industry trends and market/client needs. The remit will span multiple dimensions including, but not limited to, model construction, delivery mechanisms such as programmatic access via API, reporting and a building a commercially viable offering. 

The role will require ownership of developing these ideas and working across teams to execute on the product vision. You will be responsible for translating and understanding requirements and conveying them to Product managers, analysts and other key stakeholders. Consulting with clients and prospects to understand their Performance and Attribution  objectives and challenges, along with articulating the suite of Bloomberg’s buyside solutions is a key part of the role. You will have ownership of developing these ideas and working across functions to turn them into a finished product. You will be expected to play a hands-on role in product design, development, and delivery, as well as working across functions to achieve alignment and ensure product success.

While this role will involve a multi-asset class focus, having a strong understanding of Fixed Income Performance Attribution is strongly desired. 

We’ll trust you to:

  • Shape the future of Bloomberg’s Performance and Attribution Tools for multi-asset class portfolios
  • Present the vision, value proposition, and development progress to business leadership, sales, engineering and our client stakeholders
  • Interact and Engage with clients and prospects to articulate complex Bloomberg solutions in a clear, easy to understand manner
  • Work collaboratively with other Product Managers to integrate Performance and Attribution workflows across all relevant workflows
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, to specification, and that all development milestones are met
  • Set measurable milestones for the delivery of capabilities and workflows
  • Contribute to a broader Buy-side and Bloomberg wide vision – bring expertise and perspective, as well as an open mind to exploring and shaping the form and structure of the Bloomberg offerings to the buy-side

You’ll need to have:

  • Strong understanding of Fixed Income Portfolio Management  
  • Deep expertise of Buyside Portfolio Management workflows that particularly associate to Performance Measurement and Attribution
  • Passion for Product Development - Requires 5+ years of hands-on product development experience with a track record of innovation and corresponding delivery
  • Eagerness to work in a challenging, complex, fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Commercial & entrepreneurial mindset – Excited to come up with new ideas and take them to markets in a commercially aware way
  • Curiosity and desire to expand understanding beyond current expertise and into adjacent areas
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
