Bloomberg Television is looking for a freelance reporter in Kigali, Rwanda. The successful applicant will be passionate about storytelling and help take the story of East Africa to our global audience of investors. A fascination about business, finance and the economy is vital and you'll have exceptional organizational and communication skills. The term will initially be for a one year freelance contract.

We'll trust you to:

•  Be able to interview newsmakers in Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Ethiopia
•  Do live TV hits
•  Communicate with global editorial, production staff and colleagues from across Bloomberg's media platforms to ensure we maximize the impact of our content around the world

You'll need to have:

•  At least 3 years of reporting experience. Broadcast experience will be preferred.
•  Local-language proficiency is advantageous
•  Strong writing abilities
•  Flexibility with hours
•  A professional attitude that is highly collaborative and creative
•  A willingness to take initiative and be a self-starter
•  Ability to work under deadline pressure
•  Previous financial journalism experience is preferred
•  Right to work in Rwanda
