Bloomberg LP has built a significant media business spanning television, digital, magazine, radio, and live event platforms across the globe. In the midst of a historic time in the media industry, Bloomberg Media is growing its global footprint and reach through new innovations from Bloomberg Quicktake to Bloomberg Green.  

The Role:

As an intern in the Media Research and Insights team, you will be part of a fast-paced environment that will involve researching and analyzing several types of data. This data includes syndicated research from external agencies, media research data, and client’s post-campaign evaluation survey results. You will support the Bloomberg Media Sales team by presenting the insights in a story format that is easy and interesting to understand. These insight presentations could be client specific such as campaign evaluation or Thought Leadership research on topics such as future of technology and wealth, to show case Bloomberg’s expertise and point-of-view on the mentioned topic areas.
 
During the summer internship program, you will:

  • Gain hands-on exposure to our systems, processes, and clients. 
  • Discover how we maintain the standards of accuracy and timeliness which our data is famous for.  
  • Apply project management and data analysis skills to find insights that assist in the implementation of strategic solutions to help the sales and creative teams.   
  • Support in carrying out projects that have an exponential impact on our sales and clients.   
  • Receive training in the areas of Quantitative, Qualitative and Social Intelligence research and professional development skills 
  • Be mentored by one of our experienced Data Science and Insight specialists throughout the 10-week internship.  
  • Obtain feedback on how to continue to develop your skills and expertise. 
  • Most importantly, we hope you will have fun in the process of learning! You will get an opportunity to observe, listen, personally interact, and learn from a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team.

This is an entry level role where you’ll need:

 

  • To be a current penultimate year tertiary student (with expected graduation between Nov 2023-Sep 2024), who will be available for a 10-week summer internship from May to July 2023. 
  • Not more than 2 years of work experience
  • A demonstrated interest in media, branding and communications, along with the aspiration to work in the media/ market research/ advertising/ brand management industry (example: course of degree or work/internship experience or extracurricular activities).  
  • A demonstrated capability in having conducted basics of market research either as part of course of degree or part of specific project work 
  • Exposure (through school/work/internship) in end-to-end project management with multiple stakeholders    
  • Eagerness to learn and collaborate with teams across regions and products  
  • Solid attention to detail and experience in problem solving through school/work/internship 
  • Ability to think creatively and provide solutions which improves process efficiency 
  • Resilience to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic fast-paced environment  
  • Ability to communicate effectively and articulate thought process clearly  
  • Business proficiency and fluency in English (both written and spoken) 
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
