THE ROLE:

Bloomberg News is seeking a skilled freelance writer to create engaging and meticulously researched life stories of influential figures in business, finance, government, economics, and technology. These narratives will be published as obituaries when the need arises. Our obituaries go beyond conventional wisdom and mythology, providing readers with well-attributed details and enlightening anecdotes sourced from news archives, books, oral histories, and other reputable sources.

WE’LL TRUST YOU TO:

  •  Exhibit scrupulous attention to accuracy and attribution, recognizing the potential for corrections in obituaries
  •  Craft comprehensive and readable pieces, ensuring a high standard of quality
  •  Contribute your ideas on additional notable figures deserving of prepared obituaries

YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:

  •  A minimum of 5 years of experience in business or financial journalism

WE’D LOVE TO SEE:

  •  Prior experience in writing obituaries, particularly for individuals in the markets and finance sector
  • This is a 12-month freelance opportunity, with the potential for extension. The position is open to remote work. Compensation will be based on deliverables.

Salary Range: 60 - 80 USD Hourly

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
