The Apprenticeship Program: 

The Apprenticeship Programme at Bloomberg is an exciting opportunity to enter the company in a full-time role, take on real responsibility, and discover new skills from day one. Our apprentices make meaningful contributions to our company, while also learning across the industry. Targeted at school leavers, young professionals, military veterans, and those seeking a career change, our program is designed to bridge the gap between the British education system and the ever-changing job market. 

The Global Production team: 

Bloomberg TV is a 24-hour global news channel covering politics, economics and finance. We provide markets news, data and analysis powered by more than 2700 journalists and analysts in more than 120 countries. 
We are seeking a Broadcast Field Production Assistant to join the programme in London. This is an opportunity to work in a challenging, exciting and competitive, broadcast news environment. You will be working with our news-gathering team in our European Headquarters in London who organise outside broadcasts across the U.K., Europe, Middle East and Africa. From coordinating reporters hits in Westminster to multi-camera productions in Saudi Arabia, you will be assisting the team in putting together these exciting productions.  
You will have a passion for news, television and technology. Our news-gathering team use state of the art equipment to make these productions work, so knowledge of cameras and the broadcast chain is ideal, but not required. You will gain experience within a newsroom environment, technology, understanding broadcast principles and more. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are passionate about creating great TV, then this programme could be perfect for you. 

Eligibility criteria: 

  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4 - 9 in any subject (Should include Maths & English) 
  • Learners must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject 
  • Possess the right to work in the UK 
  • Have lived in the UK continuously for the past 3 years 

What we would like to see: 

  • Passion for broadcast news 
  • Keen interest in technology and learning new technologies 
  • Organisational skills, the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Knowledge of cameras and/or the broadcast chain would be ideal 
  • Experience working as part of a team 
  • Willingness to work early mornings
