The Role

Bloomberg's Trading Systems R&D team is looking for an experienced developer to join their Batch Feeds team.

Bloomberg Batch Feeds is part of the Bloomberg Trading System that facilitates connection of our client's own Back Office systems with the vast quantity of financial information available on the Bloomberg Professional Service. In addition, Batch Feeds leverage Bloomberg's Open Connectivity through direct uploads into our Trading Systems.

This is an opportunity to be a key player in the direction and development for Batch Feeds, Trading Systems. You will be helping to focus and mould the generation of reports and feeds, working to increase reliability and quality of this mission critical service. You will be working in a small team that is responsible for the ownership of this product from the London office, responsible for the delivery of approximately 20,000 feeds on a daily basis.

The Research and Development division of Bloomberg is responsible for creating and maintaining all functions within the BLOOMBERG PROFESSIONAL service which is used by our clients in the Finance industry. The BLOOMBERG PROFESSIONAL service a large scale distributed financial information system comprising - Trading functions, Market analysis, Live data and News. All our developers will have direct impact on our product available to the to the finance industry across the globe.

Requirements

• Solid C/C++ development experience is essential, including STL
• Must be able to demonstrate experience of full development life cycle
• Strong working knowledge of UNIX including shell and Perl scripting
• Exceptional problem solving skills
• Finance experience not essential
