The Role

Bloomberg's Application Infrastructure group supplies over 2,000 developers with an environment for rapid application development and deployment. We provide developers with a platform and infrastructure - components, toolkits, and frameworks necessary for writing high-quality, easy-to-use applications and deploying them to production quickly. We are currently seeking an exceptional senior software architect who is experienced in C/C++ API design and has a background with a variety of GUI toolkits to join our team of disciplined and creative developers in evolving our infrastructure arsenal to decrease time to market for front-end application writers. For a candidate with the experience and aptitude for team leadership, this role can include a leadership component, but exceptional individual contributors are welcome as well.

Qualifications:

  • 5 + Years in writing object-oriented software using the C++ programming language
  • Possess solid understanding of the properties and appropriate use of basic algorithms and data structure
  • Experience with multiple GUI toolkits, and proficiency in both UNIX and Windows
  • Familiarity with open source GUI toolkits such as GTK and Qt, as well as network programming is desired
  • Knowledge in .Net, C#, WPF, JavaScript, or source control tools such as Subversion is a plus.
