The Role

The R&D News department at Bloomberg is looking for a senior developer experienced in Windows and .NET development to play a leading role in the design, implementation and support of some of the most critical applications on the Bloomberg Terminal. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in developing applications for Microsoft systems as well as experience developing C/C++ code in Unix environments. Some of the work involves streaming multimedia from our data centers to clients' PCs and low-latency applications that allow reporters to deliver market moving economic indicators and news ahead of the competition.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in Microsoft application development and .NET platform, including MFC, asp.net, WPF, webservice, WCF, silverlight
  • Very Strong C/C++ expertise
  • Experience in developing multithreaded applications
  • Strong ability to design solutions to complex problems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL and standard DBMS is preferable
  • Experience in socket programming
