The R&D News department at Bloomberg is looking for a senior developer to play a leading role in the design, implementation and support of some of the most critical applications on the Bloomberg Terminal. We process nearly 1 million stories a day from over 30,000 sources in a matter of milliseconds - if we take too long, the information loses value. In addition to the challenges presented by a high volume, low latency environment, we need to develop applications that make the story load manageable to our clients - how can we help them find the stories they need to make decisions? Some of the problems we work on include real-time indexing and classification, collaborative filtering, sentiment analysis and other news analytics.
