Bloomberg's CTO UI Technology Research group acts as a liaison between our R&D Software Infrastructure group and User Experience group. Our primary goal is to set the technology direction for company products, particularly the BLOOMBERG PROFESSIONAL service through short, medium and long term projects, with an emphasis on creating better human experiences with technology.
Bloomberg is looking for a very senior software developer experienced in the design of complex software products and business systems. This is a unique opportunity to influence one of the most ubiquitous and influential software products in the marketplace. Although this is not a management role, this position will be a technical conduit for front-end and back-end technologies in conjunction with business needs. This is a position for the serious software developer who thrives on being in the trenches, responsible for designing and maintaining a collaborative environment between our R&D Software Infrastructure group and User Experience group.
The ideal candidate must possess extensive experience in both architecting software infrastructure as well as application development. For example, you would want to design your own web browser, as opposed to building the web sites. You must be a team player with proven success on achieving aggressive deadlines. Demonstration of strong passion, excellent communication skills, and creative problem solving is a must.
