The Role

Bloomberg's R&D Software Infrastructure API & Data Distribution group is responsible for API solutions that provide subscription based low latency market data and a wealth of historical and reference data in compact, self describing formats. This data is programmatically available to clients via C++, Java, and .NET language bindings.

Bloomberg's API & Data Distribution group is looking for an exceptional experienced High-Performance Linux developer. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on highly optimized, scalable, redundant and distributed software that facilitates normalization, and delivery of low latency data. The candidate must possess a strong ability to multitask effectively, prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment, and work in team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Related Field (or equivalent expertise)
  • Minimum of 3 years of C++ Linux development experience
  • Solid understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Object-Oriented design
  • Solid understanding of Multi-threading and Network programming
  • Solid understanding of High-Performance Linux development
  • Knowledge of JAVA and .NET is a plus
  • Understanding of XML/XSD and other schema driven data is a plus
  • Financial and/or Market Data experience is a plus
  • Team player
  • Problem solver
  • Proactive self-starter
