The Role

Bloomberg Law is growing at a rapid pace and we are seeking a highly-motivated and experienced sales representative with a desire to sell and position our new legal research product. The product is the first real-time legal research platform that integrates innovative search technology, comprehensive legal content, company and client information, and proprietary news all in one place. This position offers a unique and challenging opportunity to shape and build one of the most exciting new products in the legal information services industry!

The sales team is tasked with developing new business, and building and maintaining client relationships. The Account Executive must obtain an in depth understanding of the needs of legal professionals and a similar depth of understanding of Bloomberg Law and BNA to ensure the proper positioning of the products within law firms. Relationship development is essential. We need an individual who is analytical, hard-working, determined, self-motivated, personable and confident as this role is based upon heavy prospecting to develop new business opportunities. Working in groups and giving presentations in front of large and small audiences are critical to success. The successful candidate will also be expected to excel at the following:

  • Developing and managing a pipeline to ensure that sales targets and objectives are met
  • Increasing awareness of Bloomberg Law and BNA as the preferred products among legal professionals
  • Staying current on new products, enhancements, and industry trends to help understand the impact on customers
  • Establishing long-term relationships with customers, identifying up-sell opportunities, and developing new business
  • Advising attorneys and other legal professionals on how to use Bloomberg Law and BNA for legal research and business development

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong sales experience, including a proven record of exceeding goals and performance targets a minimum of 6 or more years experience
  • Legal sales experience
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively communicate value propositions to the industry decision makers
  • Effective time management skills
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, detail-oriented environment
  • Travel required
  • Working knowledge of and background in the legal profession and/or legal publishing industry preferred
  • JD a plus
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg Terminal a plus
