The Role

Bloomberg Procurement is looking for an experienced Sourcing Specialist to join our APAC Procumbent group in support of APAC regions and global sourcing activities. The role would primarily be focused on IT hardware, software, services, maintenance, and Infrastructure project throughout the APAC regions. The IT Sourcing Specialist will help support Category Strategies with the identification, selection, sourcing, development and management of suppliers supporting one or more categories, when required. The successful candidate will be flexible enough to work on, communicate, buyer(s) on the tactical work streams in SAP and will place order on requirements/auditing suppliers against contracted agreements. Ability to work with cross-functional teams/business units over regions, area such as IT, Accounting, Supply Chain, Facility, Leasing, etc. The successful candidate will display the ability to take ownership of work items including special projects and be able to work with minimal supervision when required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize and understand best practices and industry trends
• Ensure timely acquisitions of product or service requirements from known sources of supply
• Assist/support in development with category managers/sourcing/buyers in purchasing policies and procedures supporting category initiatives as experience is gained and ensure category KPI targets are being achieved
• Assist/support global category supplier relationships and sourcing opportunities, including RFPs, negotiations, etc. when applicable
• Accountable for global sourcing category(s) including sourcing opportunities, including RFPs, negotiations, etc.
• Execute global and or local strategy and work toward developing a sourcing pipeline and cohesive and cost-saving agreements
• Accountable for global contract agreements and addendums and ensure valid local contracts are in place
• Responsible for sound contract management and drive continuous value out of the contract
• Participate in continuous learning and professional development activities
• Comply with procurement policies and procedures

Requirements

• BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of training and experience, (CPP or CIPS designation a plus)
• 5-7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, industry analysis, supplier analysis and negotiation
• The ability to manage cross-category relationships and develop understanding of various category strategies
• Experience in multiple spend categories, with the ability to multi-task by supporting multiple ones
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of SAP a plus
• Detailed and customer service focus
• Strong problem-solving, strategic and creative thinking skills
• Experience in Asia wide projects in multiple countries is highly preferable.
