The Role

Bloomberg News seeks an experienced, dynamic reporter to be based in New Delhi for our Asia government team.

We are looking for an energetic, well-sourced reporter who can break news on India's government, with a focus on foreign policy developments in South Asia. The successful candidate will be able to analyze how government policies affect money flows and investment decisions in the world's fastest growing major economy. They will be able to write compelling enterprise for a global audience that clearly explains the geopolitical fault lines in a region with two nuclear powers and a fifth of the world's population.

The preferred candidate will need to work closely with bureaus across the globe, and be familiar with topics ranging from defense sales to cybersecurity to global trade talks. The reporter will also need to clearly assess the strengths and weaknesses of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government in meeting its political and economic goals in India.

The Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Proven ability to break news
• Experience writing features
• At least five years of post-graduate journalism experience, including reporting of political or economic news
• Experience reporting in a real-time news environment
• Knowledge of India's government, economy, financial markets and business
• Fluency in English, preferably some familiarity with Hindi
