Bloomberg's Global Data Division is on the quest for a Technical Product Designer to join our team in the Princeton, NJ office. This role will encompass a large array of responsibilities working across multiple departments, and as such we are looking for a unique professional who has a combination of practical business experience, technical skills and an ability to bring entrepreneurial vision to our growing team.

What's in it for you:

This role will be aligned with a specific component of our data processing technology stack, such as data acquisition, extraction, or data storage. As such, you will have an opportunity to design products and services that address specific data management challenges like automating data capture from structured and unstructured content, re-shaping and transforming raw data for downstream consumption to build data products etc.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other product designers to create integrated solutions for end-to-end data processing.

You will join forces with members of Global Data and Engineering, as well as other Technical Product Designers, to develop and rollout a technology stack that is modular, re-usable, configurable, and scalable to replace legacy systems, eliminating technical debt and optimizing operations.

How you will make an impact:

• Design, lead, and measure experiments to gather feedback in order to make the components of our technology stack more effective
• Synthesize customer insights to drive strategy and present findings to leadership in compelling, creative, and accessible ways
• Help our organization test the limits of our practical growth capabilities through the design of new business concepts and workflows
• Create comprehensive plans for cross-functional infrastructure projects and rollout to users
• Consult internal clients on the design and implementation of effective solutions that address specific business problems using a component, or combination of components, from our technology stack
• Promote the application of technology throughout the organization to optimize operations by improving efficiency, quality, timeliness, and resource management

What we are targeting:

• Previous professional industry experience in the creation and design of business solutions with enterprise-wide view of the business processes, technology strategies and governance
• Master's Degree in Business, or equivalent professional experience, along with an undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science or technology would be ideal
• Demonstrable capacity to leverage technology to extract actionable data points from tables and texts, design E-T-L applications and automated data extraction systems
• Good understanding of machine learning and natural language and image processing for data extraction
• Comprehensive knowledge of business model design, analysis, implementation and testing of new business processes and concepts
• Ability to build partnerships with cross-functional teams during the project life-cycle and to interface and facilitate interactions with engineering and data subject-matter-experts
• Capacity to deliver clear and concise documentation that supports business requirements, use cases, and process improvement flow charts
• Experience with processing to ingest data from numerous, disparate data sources and transforming it into meaningful and actionable information
