The UX Team at Bloomberg is committed to creating exceptional human experiences for the Bloomberg Terminal. We're looking for our next UX design intern to contribute to the design of a new product.

What’s the role?

Every summer we pair up a UX design intern with a UX research intern. Under the supervision of 2 mentors, both interns will work together as a team to research user needs, design the best possible experience, and present the final product to UX, business, and engineering stakeholders.

As a design intern, you will be fully responsible for the design by brainstorming, sketching, and wireframing all aspects from concept to final product. You will focus on the overall concepts and architecture as well as every interaction design detail. You will also get the chance to perfect your research skills by assisting the research intern.

Examples of previous intern projects include contact management tools for traders, managing research notes for analysts, user analytics tools, and collaboration tools.

Overall, you will have the chance to work side-by-side with researchers and designers in our team, join any research or design team meetings, and work on a project with business implications.

What do I need to apply?

Applicants must provide a resume AND portfolio reflecting their UX experience (prior jobs, research projects, or classes). Portfolios explaining overall research and design processes followed along with examples of sketches and wireframes will help us the most.

• Currently pursuing a Masters in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Human Factors, Computer Science (with an emphasis on HCI), or a related field
• Ability to brainstorm ideas and deliver quick sketches
• Experience creating clear and crisp wireframes with sound interaction design decisions
• Experience communicating and debating design
• Ability to embrace design feedback positively
• Some proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Omnigraffle, Illustrator, Visio, etc.
• Frisbee skills are a plus
