Bloomberg's User Experience Team is offering internships to qualified students studying visual design who will work closely with our team of UX/UI designers, Product, and Developers toward crafting a new editorial experience across our mobile and desktop applications for our core service subscribers. Our team is seeking candidates with demonstrated editorial layout, strong typographic skills, who can communicate in a clear, concise and compelling fashion, to work for a 3 month period during the summer. Not only will interns get the opportunity to work in a talented and growing team with mentorship opportunities, but they will also get the chance to understand how visual design is applied to a specialized domain - financial services - with unique user needs.

Applicants must provide a resume AND portfolio showcasing UI graphic design experience.

A background in applying common user-centered design practices to solve design challenges is desired. The ideal candidate would be a fast learner, hands-on team player who has ability to create detailed visual designs.

What you’ll need to have:

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or Masters in Graphic Design, Information Design, Communication Design
• Experience designing and prototyping for desktop and mobile applications, or rich web-based applications
• Demonstrated understanding of visual design and UCD principles via a portfolio
• Excellent design communication skills and a willingness to understand and incorporate design feedback
• Demonstrated fluency with the Adobe Creative Suite
• Familiarity with Sketch, PowerPoint, Keynote, Visio/OmniGraffle
• Familiarity with Android and iOS standards and conventions
