What's the role?

As a key member of our Global Sales team, you'll be responsible for prospecting, generating new sales leads and growth through referrals, cold-calling and market research with a C-Suite and Global Tier 1 client base focus. You'll work closely with prospects to gain a clear understanding of their business needs, build strong relationships and provide consultative solutions leading to positive sales outcomes. You'll also play a role in influencing the direction of our products by providing feedback on user workflow demand, competitor intelligence, and market trends. You'll need to demonstrate credibility with a proven competency and knowledge of the buyside community, have an understanding of the operational and trading activities of the fund, and have familiarity and experience with the order management -complimentary applications such as Portfolio Performance and Risk and enterprise data. You'll be a good listener too and be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in our clients.

We'll trust you to focus on the following core areas:

1) Revenue:

  • Manage the Enterprise sales engagement smoothly from beginning to end
  • Engage all levels of global organizations
  • Manage the external pre-sales process efficiently, including requirements gathering, articulation of requirements and resource/people management
  • Manage the internal pre-sales process through tight operational discipline and collaboration with the implementations team
  • Leverage market, product and technical expertise to solve for client requirements/challenges/timelines with Bloomberg solutions

2) Knowledge:

You'll demonstrate a depth of understanding and fluency in the following areas:

  • The marketplace
  • The Customer's business (who their customers are, how they make money, what their challenges are)
  • The Customer's technology stack, workflows, and internal structure (org chart, influence maps, how decisions are made, competing products)
  • Features, solutions, and benefits of Bloomberg product offerings beyond buy side solutions

3) Operational Discipline:

  • Establish and execute a market strategy for achieving sales targets through the appropriate stages of the sales cycle (prospect to qualify to propose to negotiate to complete)
  • Highly organized approach to sales through deployment of project management skills

You'll need to have:

  • 10+ years of experience in sales
  • Self starter with a proven record of meeting or exceeding demanding sales targets with large firms with a global presence
  • An expert grasp on buy side workflows
  • Deep cross asset class knowledge (Equity, fixed income and derivatives - exchange traded and OTC)
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts and demonstrate value to proposition to executives
  • A sound knowledge of operations within the buyside community
  • A highly tenacious and confident approach to sales and strategy
