We are looking for a hands-on, technical Team Leader to lead the Network Engineering team across the APAC region. The APAC Network Engineering team is responsible for the design, solution architecture, implementation and support of Bloomberg’s global multi-vendor network, one of the world’s largest private networks which spans over 100 node sites and connects clients globally to over 1,500 exchanges, market data, and order entry venues.

We’ll trust you to:

• Show leadership & direction and motivate a team of enthusiastic senior Network Engineers
• Design, engineer, and deploy appropriate network solutions to meet our business requirements
• Analyze, fix, and deliver solutions for complex network issues raised by the Network Operations team
• Identify technology gaps, develop, and implement appropriate solutions as a team
• Build formal guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure smooth and error-free operations
• Conduct evaluation and career development of team members
• Handle team schedules and uphold department policies and procedures
• Provide technical assistance and training
• Develop relationships with vendors and internal/external partners to understand network requirements while maintaining availability requirements

You’ll need to have:

• Good technical knowledge as a hands-on Network Engineer with demonstrated leadership qualities
• Prior experience in leadership and development of technical teams
• Ability to motivate and influence others, lead by example, and actively suggest creative ideas
• Comprehensive experience in forming positive relationships across functionalities and business units
• Ability to deal directly with global customers, technical teams, and product developers
• Excellent knowledge of routing and switching concepts and technology
• Experience with large L3/L2 network design, development, and troubleshooting
• Proficiency in IOS, JunOS, NX-OS, EOS, and service provider hardware
• Practical experience with MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IGMP, PIM
• Experience in fault isolation and break fix for network & firewall issues
• Experience with sniffers and packet capture analysis
• Self-motivated personality with strong presentation and project management skills to interface directly with the business
• Experience working closely with NOCs, systems software developers, and administrators
• Basic Unix/Linux knowledge and experience

We’d love to see:

• CCNP or similar industry standard networking qualifications
• Knowledge of service provider MPLS layer 3 VPN concepts
• Knowledge of major exchange platforms such as TSE, OSE, HKSE, and others
• Understanding of financial instruments, fixed income, equity and derivatives
