Bloomberg Mail is a cloud-based platform used for price announcement, financial research distribution, automated data acquisition, news feed and many other types of communication on the Bloomberg Terminal. Our users, including 15,000 internal employees and 350,000 external customers in financial industry, rely on Bloomberg Mail because of its real-time performance, massive scale, ironclad security, tight integration with financial data and applications on the Bloomberg Terminal. Our system is built on top of open source, commercial and proprietary technologies and we leverage Cisco ESA (Ironport) as our Internet email gateway.

The Internet mail team is responsible for the translation between Internet email and our proprietary mail/data format, as well as providing reputation check, spam detection, virus scanning and LDAP directory. We manage 600,000 mailboxes and handle 20 million emails per day. With an average of 20% traffic increase, we are looking for a Cisco ESA system administrator who is interested in working on the large scale enterprise email system.

As a system administrator in our Internet email team, we will trust you to:

• Support the overall health of enterprise Internet email environment
• Provide Cisco ESA technical expertise in the management, maintenance, and problem resolution
• Monitor the health of the email system and conduct proactive risk remediation
• Resolve service tickets initiated by internal department or enterprise clients
• Provide documentation, guidance, instruction to help desk for handling end users' inquiries, work order and service request
• Work closely with engineers to support software development objectives

You'll need to have:

• Experience administering enterprise mail systems, with demonstrable experience with email appliances, preferably Cisco ESAs
• In depth knowledge of email related network protocols
• Understanding of LDAP based directory and authentication services

We'd love to see:

• Experience running Postfix is an advantage
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems
