The DataHub Engineering team provides a distributed platform for hosting datasets, complete with managed data stores, search, discovery, batch analytics and real-time stream processing capabilities. Our goal: ensuring high quality content, which is the life blood of financial markets, is cataloged, standardized, discoverable, distributed and accessible in one place. The platform offers low latency, high availability data stores, pipes, stream processing, real-time change data capture, distribution and discoverability services. That's where you come in.

What's in it for you:

You will be part of a team that is building the foundation for supporting data processing needs companywide, leveraging K8S infrastructure. You will be a catalyst in building and managing dozens of k8s clusters across several environments and products. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to Kubernetes and other open source projects. DataHub is a platform for all application groups at Bloomberg, offering you opportunities to network with many engineers throughout the company.

As a Kubernetes engineer in the DataHub team, you will be responsible for customizing Kubernetes clusters to host DataHub applications, design and hands-on execution of monitoring, alerting, observability systems. DataHub uses many distributed systems like Kafka, Airflow, Spark, Vitess offering you the opportunity to work with all these technologies. In addition our objective is private cloud bare metal K8S clusters as well as designing for public clouds. 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 4+ years of professional experience in Linux system, networking and any one of the cluster managers Kubernetes, Mesos
  • Programming skills in any two of these: Python, Ansible, Go, Java
  • Experience with automation of system configurations, idempotent deployments testing, error handling and continuous delivery pipelines
  • BA, BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related technology field

We would love to see

  • Experience designing and automating operations for public clouds using EKS/GKE/AKS 
  • Understanding of Kubernetes operator pattern

Salary Range: 160,000 - 240,000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
