Bloomberg runs on data, and in the Global Data team we're responsible for acquiring it and providing it to our clients. We collect, analyse, process and publish the data which is the backbone of our iconic Bloomberg Terminal- the facts and figures which ultimately move the financial markets. We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies and we implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes- and all this while providing platinum customer support to our clients.

The Funds product group in Global Data is responsible for the full lifecycle of Data relating to all types of funds and collective investment schemes across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Whether you are sourcing relevant market data from new or existing providers, processing complex financial data or implementing technology solutions to enhance our processes and software, your work will ensure that we deliver accurate market data to the financial world first.

What’s the role?

Global Data in Dubai office is looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for client engagement, research and technology. The team is responsible for procuring, managing and analysing data for our funds product, which provides information to the market with point-in-time updates.

You will be responsible for researching new data sets to expand the coverage of our product, maintaining and enhancing existing fund data sets, designing and analysing internal processes to identify opportunities for improve efficiency and perform quality control. You’ll establish and maintain strong relationships with regional and global fund data providers to ensure we capture fund datasets in timely manner.  You’ll need to combine of subject-matter-expertise and technical skills to generate premium content such as data-driven news stories and provide customer support for users of Bloomberg products such as the Professional Service, News and Enterprise Solutions by resolving inquiries in a timely manner.

We need you to have:

• Native fluency in Arabic
• Bachelor's degree, preferably with combined studies in Information Systems and Finance or related business and STEM field
• At least two years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge on the Funds and Holdings industry
• Knowledge on the workflow of financial market players, especially in buy-side firms
• Excellent communication and customer service skills and experience in building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Ability to adapt in a fast paced changing environment
• Interest and/or proven experience in information technology and statistical analysis or computer programming (for example VBA, SQL, MATLAB, Python).
• Effective research skills and excellent attention to detail
