Bloomberg News seeks an experienced, dynamic editor to help drive our government coverage across Greater China.
We are seeking someone with a deep understanding of Chinese politics and power, who can guide a network of reporters to break news on China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. You'll deliver stories that quickly and clearly explain the latest developments in the world's second biggest economy, and help our readers understand the actions of the Chinese leadership under President Xi Jinping.
The successful candidate will facilitate coverage that examines political news through the prism of business, economics, markets, technology and geopolitics. Our Greater China editor also plays a key role on the broader international government team, coordinating with Europe and the U.S. on breaking news developments.
You will have experience working with a diverse group of people across multiple countries, and the ability to juggle several things at once. You're a strong writer who explains why events matter under tight deadline pressure. You're a team player who will collaborate with reporters and editors on other teams and with bureau managers.
You're curious, passionate and strive for excellence. You're digitally savvy and ready to try new things to promote stories online, on television and radio.
The position is based in Hong Kong, though other locations may be considered. Chinese-language skills would be preferred.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Ability to work in a real-time news environment and apply swift news judgment
- Excellent editing skills and experience executing on feature stories
- Track record of finding scoops and breaking news
- Proven career in business journalism
