The FinTech Legal / Negotiations team is responsible for negotiating licensing agreements with Bloomberg's customers, which range from major financial institutions to government entities across a wide range of fin-tech products and services that are dynamic and often cutting-edge. Our colleagues depend on us to gain deep product and commercial contract knowledge in order to support them in closing the deal, while protecting our businesses from undue legal risk.

The Role:

Based in Manhattan, you will lead and manage a Legal Operations team, which supports 60+ colleagues within the FinTech Legal team and manage several cross-functional projects, including development of an internal CLM platform that leverages machine learning and natural language processing. You will drive, advocate for, and lead initiatives that improve operations, and streamline processes and technology between us and our business partners. Significant stakeholders will include Engineering, COOs, Finance & Administration, and the Contracts department. You will report to and work closely with the Global Head of Legal Negotiations and Operations, also acting as chief of staff (e.g. business planning) for the Legal Negotiations team. You will be responsible for leading all strategic initiatives, with a focus on business process improvement, business planning, and building new systems and enhancing and maintaining existing ones.

Be a superb and experienced Project Manager, able to lead and multi-task across a large number of projects at a time
Be a thought leader, able to advocate for new and innovative ways of operating, while also enhancing and streamlining existing process and systems
Have high technical and operational acumen with advanced Excel skills to support your analyses and recommendations
Be a very quick learner who will thrive in a fast paced and fluid environment
Work in close partnership with Legal Negotiations Specialists, Counsel, Engineering, Contracts, Finance and Accounting
Operate in an open and communicative way while also using excellent judgment when faced with sensitive matters around resources, budgeting, people development and more general business planning

You’ll need to have:

A bachelor's degree or equivalent (a masters or law degree is a plus)
5+ years experience in an operations leadership role (legal or technology ops. preferred)
Strong leadership skills and high emotional intelligence
Excellent time management skills
Superb written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence others
Strong attention to detail
Superb work ethic and high emotional intelligence
Advanced Excel skills (SQL experience a plus)
