Bloomberg LP has built a significant media business spanning television, digital, magazine, radio and live event platforms across the globe. In the midst of a historic time in the media industry, Bloomberg Media is growing its global footprint and reach through new innovations from Quicktake to New Economy to our rapidly growing consumer subscription business.

Role:

Bloomberg News is one of the biggest financial and business news organizations in the world. We lead the way in breaking news about mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and other events, enabling readers, viewers and listeners to stay ahead of the markets.

You're an editor who will help build on our robust weekend strategy from New York, setting Bloomberg's agenda on the terminal, mobile, Bloomberg.com and social media. You will be joining our weekend team, working a Thursday – Sunday schedule. You'll demonstrate superior news judgment, have experience editing stories on a variety subjects, and be prepared to enhance our online presence.

You'll be comfortable coordinating and publishing fast-breaking news across multiple platforms, and not be afraid of leading from the front and doing everything it takes for Bloomberg News to succeed Friday afternoon to Monday morning.

We'll trust you to:

•  Produce and edit breaking news with teams and platforms
•  React quickly to unexpected stories and help break news
•  Promote the most important stories of the day on mobile, TOP, Bloomberg.com and social media
•  Be a team player and embrace a no-special-people attitude

You need to have:

•  A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
•  Knowledge and interest in markets, politics, companies and general interest news
•  The ability to collaborate across platforms
•  Experience editing stories, sending headlines and alerts to our core and online audiences
•  Innovative ideas on how best to inform our clients at the weekend

This is a weekend position. You will work Thursday – Sunday with a dedicated team.
