Bloomberg News is seeking a stringer in Bratislava, primarily to cover Slovak news. The successful candidate will be asked to contribute several stories a week about the central bank, politics, the economy, companies and markets, and to work collaboratively across teams. There will also be opportunities to write about wider topics, especially from the central and eastern European region and to contribute on a range of platforms.

We’ll trust you to:

Be aware of the major news stories and trends within our coverage
Generate and shape story ideas
Embrace a variety of platforms and formats to tell stories, including data-visualization, podcasts and blogs
Work with editors on accurate and insightful coverage
Communicate and collaborate with teams across the company

You’ll need to have:

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Fluency in English and Slovak, another CEE language would be an advantage
Understanding of economics and financial markets
Excellent news judgment
An ability to write quickly, concisely and accurately under tight deadline pressure
