Investigations Team Leader, Europe: Bloomberg News is looking for an accomplished editor to lead a team of investigative journalists in Europe. This London-based position will work closely with a number of experienced and skilled reporters to produce ground-breaking enterprise and accountability reporting. Experience in investigative journalism and longform storytelling is required, as are strategic thinking, strong interpersonal skills and a robust work ethic. Experience with multiplatform approaches is preferred.
The successful candidate will:
*Guide and motivate a team of investigative journalists to produce novel, compelling stories that hold powerful people, businesses and institutions to account.
*Focus the team’s energy on timely investigations with profound impact.
*Foster collaboration and diversity within the team and across Bloomberg News.
*Encourage and support team members’ professional development and innovation in reporting and storytelling.
*Set and enforce high standards for team members’ journalism and professional conduct.
*Serve as a sounding board for reporters’ and other editors’ story ideas and reporting strategies.
*Develop and nurture partnerships with other Bloomberg News teams -- and outside organizations -- on high-impact projects.
*Work effectively with Bloomberg's premiere reporting showcases, including Big Take, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Green magazine and Bloomberg Markets, as well as with the regional editing hubs.
Requisite skills include:
*Expert editing, including for clarity, thoroughness and intellectual honesty.
*Ability to juggle complex projects.
*Strong and straightforward communication.
*Sound news judgment.
*Thoughtful, inclusive and ethical decision-making.
