The Team:

Bloomberg runs on data. As a team we're responsible for the provision of macro-economic datasets and data driven insights for APAC. We seek to continue our role as the leading source of economic indicators and analysis.
Whether you are sourcing market data from new or existing providers, processing complex economic data or implementing technology based solutions to improve our processes and software, your work will help to ensure the consistency, quality and product delivery of our Economics Platform.

What can you expect from this opportunity?

We are seeking an expert in China economic data management to work with Global Data Eco team to review and enhance the company’s China economic data structure. You will take the lead on a short-term project review the layout and enhance discover-ability of Bloomberg’s database of China economic data. You have demonstrated experience working in an economic data provider, statistical agency, or deep expertise working with China’s economic data as a data analyst.

You should have a comprehensive understanding of China’s economic data, be experienced in developing and running economics databases, and be able to lead projects effectively to deliver results on tight deadlines.

This is a short-term consultancy post which will end at the end of Dec 2016.

You will need to have:

  • A comprehensive understanding of China’s economic data, including official and independent sources.
  • A strong background in developing and handling economic databases, ideally with a focus on serving financial sector clients.
  • Established contacts among the government and private agencies that produce some of China’s main economic data.
  • A consistent track record in effective project management, working to tight deadlines.
  • Professional level English and Chinese are mandatory.
