Bloomberg News is looking for a bureau chief in Brussels to oversee coverage of EU institutions and policy at this critical juncture for the region.

Thriving in a real-time news environment, you will raise the profile of the bureau and put us ahead on the biggest stories pertaining to EU politics, policy and regulation and its impact on business and finance. You will also work with reporters and editors in the newsroom to organize interviews with top newsmakers. Coordination with other teams, bureaus and platforms is an essential part of this role.

We'll trust you to:

• Demonstrate exceptional news judgement
• Write and edit clear and comprehensive stories
• Regularly break news and produce high-quality enterprise pieces
• Manage the internal personnel needs of the bureau

You must have:

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Experience working in business journalism and in a real-time news environment
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to direct coverage
• An ability to maintain and develop top-level sources

We'd love to see:

• Fluency in French
• An established network of sources in Brussels
• Previous management experience
