Bloomberg is looking for an experienced reporter to join the Economy & Government team in Buenos Aires at a crucial time. The country is bracing for presidential elections this year, and a litany of problems await the next government, including 100% inflation and a looming recession.

Argentina must also forge ahead with its $44 billion IMF agreement. Economics and politics have never been more intertwined in South America's second largest country. 

Your Role 

You will be responsible for leading Bloomberg's economic and political coverage of Argentina during the election and beyond. At a source level, your beat will focus on the president, economy minister, congress and central bank. You will also collaborate with colleagues across Latin America and Bloomberg's global newsroom on regional projects or international trend stories. The aim is to break news, deliver scoops and land major interviews, but the beat also provides ample opportunities for features, enterprise, profiles and other storytelling formats on all aspects of Argentina's economy, politics and society. 
 
What we're looking for: 

• A candidate with a team-first attitude, excited to collaborate and coordinate with your colleagues.
• Fluency speaking Spanish.
• Knowledge of Argentina's economy and politics.
• A track record of breaking news, developing high-level sources and owning a beat.
• Five years of journalism experience.
• Proficiency speaking and writing in English.  
• Experience with video, podcasts and multimedia is a major plus.
