Bloomberg runs on data, and in the Global Data team we're responsible for acquiring it and providing it to our clients. We collect, analyse, process and publish the data which is the backbone of our iconic Bloomberg Terminal- the facts and figures which ultimately move the financial markets. We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies and we implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes- and all this while providing platinum customer support to our clients.

What’s the role?

Investors target Alpha, our data and analytical tools help them achieve it. We provide portfolio managers real time information on companies’ financial performance to assist in profitability analysis & assess the risk and return of their investment. Buy-side & sell-side, equity analysts use our data to create valuation models to provide stock recommendations and target prices and assess the viability of investing in a company.

As a team we're responsible for improving and reporting fundamentals related content for the Bloomberg Terminal. Offering reported on and normalised financials, key analytical ratios, industry-specific data points, and Business Line and Geographic Segmentation data - we move markets!

Whether you’re sourcing market data from new or existing providers, processing complex financial data or implementing technology solutions to enhance our processes and software, your work will help to ensure the consistency, quality and product delivery of a portfolio of companies.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Maintain, improve and deliver accurate, high quality information for the Terminal
  • Assist our world-renowned client support help desk with advanced client inquiries
  • Apply analytical skills to identify creative work-flow efficiencies and implement technology solutions to enhance our processes and software
  • Liaise with other departments, such as Product, Sales, News and Research & Development to enhance meaningful product databases
  • Manage large and complex data projects related to Equity Fundamental market datasets
  • Take ownership and be proactive with key areas of responsibility

You’ll need to have:

  • BA / BS in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent work experience
  • A professional level of written and spoken English
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills
  • Prior experience or strong knowledge and understanding of finance and accounting
  • Keen interest in information management and technology and product development
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic changing environment
  • Effective project management skills and ability to prioritise tasks accordingly
  • Commitment to enhancing and developing products and processes
  • Able to maintain high attention to detail and accuracy when working to tight deadlines

We’d love to see:

  • Experience in customer service or client relationship management
  • Interest in information technology and statistical analysis or computer programming (for example SQL, Python, VBA, MATLAB, Regex)
  • Additional second European language (French is preferred)
