Bloomberg runs on data, and in the Global Data team we're responsible for acquiring it and providing it to our clients. We collect, analyse, process and publish the data which is the backbone of our iconic Bloomberg Terminal- the facts and figures which ultimately move the financial markets. We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies and we implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes- and all this while providing platinum customer support to our clients.

What's the role?

Our Fixed Income team provides bondholders with real-time information to value the credit worthiness of fixed income securities. It also helps investors determine the fair value of an asset and its default probability. Our products help credit and rates investors assess interest rate, inflation, credit, as well as liquidity risk.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about financial markets and data. Whether you are sourcing market data from new or existing providers, processing complex financial data or implementing technology solutions to enhance our processes and software, your work will help to ensure the consistency, quality and product delivery of our Fixed Income platform. You will also play a key role in identifying various ways we can make our processes and software more efficient.

We will trust you to:

• Develop and maintain close relationships with some of the world's largest bond issuing corporations, as well as Lead Managers, Trustees, Finance
• Ministries, Central Banks, Debt Management Offices, and Exchanges
• Source and validate raw fixed income data that enables our clients to make better informed decisions
• Maintain, improve and deliver accurate, high quality information for the Bloomberg Professional Service
• Assist our world-renowned client support help desk with escalated client inquiries
• Apply analytical skills to identify creative work-flow efficiencies and implement technology solutions to enhance our processes and software
• Liaise with Product, Sales, News and Research & Development to improve meaningful product databases
• Handle projects related to Money Market instruments as well as Corporate and Government bonds datasets
• Take ownership and be dedicated to key areas of responsibility.

You'll need to have:

• A professional level of written and spoken English
• A real passion for financial markets and sound knowledge of fixed income
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Effective project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks accordingly
• Keen interest in information management and technology and product development
• Speed and accuracy when processing data
• High proficiency in MS Excel is required
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
• Experience in Customer Service or Client Relationship Management

We’d love to see:

• Experience of processing data is desirable
• Knowledge in information technology or statistical analysis or computer programming (for example VBA, SQL, MATLAB, Python)
• Leadership experience or skills
• Additional second European language (French is preferred)
