Bloomberg’s Service Desk Triage Team is trusted to help reduce mean time to repair (MTTR) for outages, increase stability, improve processes, reduce noise, identify trends, and automate manual tasks using runbooks and code. We collaborate regularly with teams across Bloomberg to help implement new technologies and strategies for maintaining the multi-billion dollar organizational operation.

You’ll contribute in turning institutional knowledge into automated runbooks. Through the collaborative development of our runbook platforms, you’ll provide focused engineering and operational insight. You will be at the center of our hub for innovation and you’ll get the opportunity to evaluate emerging technologies along with their impact on various technology engineering and infrastructure services.
Who you are:
You are someone who has extensive experience with runbook automation, event correlation, anomaly detection, and automating repeatable processes. You have a constant thirst for learning about new technologies which you use to find the best solutions to multi-factor problems. You have a proven track record of successfully gathering data, modeling data, and executing models to help solve critical problems.
We’ll trust you to:
- Understand the dynamics of the underlying issues leading to alarms and outages
- Design, develop, implement and document tools used
- Be self-motivated with the ability to interact with Software Engineers, SRE's and Infrastructure Engineers
- Become technical liaison for our growing runbook platforms while implementing standards and quality control mechanisms
You need to have:
- BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of Python and Machine Learning Algorithms
- Good knowledge of SDLC concepts
- Working knowledge of runbook platforms and orchestration workflow tools
We’d love to see:
- Working knowledge of Jira concepts
- Experience in distributed systems, including distributed database and computation software
- Experience with anomaly detection algorithms
