Bloomberg is seeking an experienced digital editor to help shape and showcase the biggest stories of the day for our growing online audience in the EMEA region. You will be expected to perform a variety of roles: Curate homepages, write sharp headlines, craft social and SEO language, send speedy mobile push alerts and post content across social platforms.

The successful candidate will have strong news judgment, understand digital consumption habits as well as coverage areas that matter to a business and finance audience. You will need to have a record of collaborating with reporters and editors across a global newsroom.
We’re looking for a self-starter with a passion for breaking news, as well as presenting longer-form pieces in clear and creative ways. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that often requires making split-second decisions, and be willing to pitch in across roles.

We'll trust you to:

  •  Manage homepages to highlight the biggest news of the day globally
  •  Curate content to show off our best stories in all formats, including newsletters, podcasts and videos
  •  Develop coverage plans for breaking news and live events in collaboration with the News Desk
  •  Write and brainstorm web-friendly headlines with the newsroom
  •  Optimize content for SEO and monitor keyword opportunities
  •  Send mobile push alerts across regions as news breaks
  •  Promote priority content across social distribution platforms
  •  Pitch referral partners for promotion (Apple News, LinkedIn, etc.)

You'll need to have:

  •  A minimum of 5+ years of experience covering business journalism, financial markets or global news, preferably in a digital newsroom environment
  •  Excellent news judgment and attention to detail
  •  Strong headline writing skills for the homepage and across social platforms
  •  Deliver your best work under pressure in a fast-paced newsroom, balancing multiple projects at a time
  •  An ability to adapt to changing news habits and audience behavior in a post-social media world
  •  A collaborative spirit and a commitment to innovate and experiment
  •  Prior experience with web and social publishing tools, Photoshop and Google Search Console are a plus
